Virtual Tours Through Orange County

Virtual Tours of Orange County CA

You might not be going anywhere at the moment, but everyone needs some time to mentally escape. Why not kill two birds with one stone and start planning your next trip to Orange County as you virtually take in some beautiful scenery? We wanted to share some virtual walking tours and videos to help give you a break from your current surroundings and show you all that’s waiting for you in Orange County!

Mission San Juan Capistrano

There are a number of historic missions to visit in California and one of them happens to be in Orange County! Mission San Juan Capistrano is located in the southern part of Orange County and offers a full virtual walkthrough and audio tour of the grounds. You can watch and learn about the Mission (and what is it), its agriculture, the history of structure, the art within the mission walls, and more! It’s a great history lesson and beautiful architecture to enjoy.

Wildlife, Trails, and Outdoor Activities

If you want a virtual taste of the outdoors – wildlife activity on trails, whale sightings, waterfalls – Orange County Outdoors is a great follow. The website isn’t updated terribly frequently, but Facebook and Instagram are constantly updated with new photos and videos of hiking trails (they have a camera out in Trabuco Canyon), waterfalls, whale appearances, and even snowfall on Saddleback Mountain! Even locals enjoy following these accounts to know what sights to see and where the next trail to check out is.

Whale Watching in Orange County

If you haven’t already, this is a must experience for tourists and residents alike. The annual migrations are the best times to see whales (specifically in the winter is when the Grey Whale migration occurs), but there are opportunities year-round to spot them. The best way to know if and when you should book a tour is to follow the daily trip logs the companies will put out, and follow them on social media to know if they’ve spotted any whales recently and if there are patterns in the frequency of whale sightings. Newport Coastal Adventure does a great job of this. If you’re longing to see some marine life while you’re on the couch, check out Captain Dave’s Dana Point Dolphin & Whale Watching Safari. Not only are they also helpful in posting their trip logs, but while we’re unable to go on one of the cruises currently, Captain Dave has been posting virtual dolphin and whale watching videos on his YouTube channel! Just a taste of what you could see on a whale watching cruise!

Orange County Beach Walking Tours

Maybe all you really want right now is some scenic views of beaches. We have that in spades! Besides, while you watch the beachfront and waves go by, it’ll give you a good idea of which beaches you’d like to visit next. There are virtual walking tours of Dana Point Harbor, Huntington Beach Pier, and San Clemente Pier, and we have plenty more Orange County Beaches to choose from. Every beach is different, and simply going on a virtual walk through some is a great start to deciding what will be on your must see list on your next trip.

Even if you can’t see the sights right now, these virtual tours and videos will give you a few more ideas of places to check out on your next visit to Orange County. If nothing else, hopefully they’ll give you a few moments to mentally relax and escape to a virtual paradise.
