Thanksgiving is fast approaching and so are all of the Orange County-based Turkey Trots. There’s nothing better than working on some calories and leaving space for a giant Thanksgiving feast. Obviously, not much, as the tradition of the turkey trot has gone on since 1916. The various races, walks, and runs come in a variety of difficulties from all-star athlete toughness to easy, flat, and stroller friendly courses. Nov 28: Plymouth Rock N Run | The event includes a 5k, 10k, 10m, kids run, and tot trot. All of the proceeds go towards spinal cord injury research and the runs are dog-friendly!


Nov 28: Angel Stadium Turkey Trot 5K & Fun Run | This turkey trot puts the fun in fun run with costumes included in this Thanksgiving tradition.

Dana Point

Nov 28:  42nd Annual Dana Point Turkey Trot | The Dana Point Turkey Trot is a can’t miss Orange County tradition that’s been running since 1977.

Huntington Beach

Nov 28: Thanksgiving Turkey Wobble | The Turkey Wobble offers up a fun beachfront course and all of the proceeds go toward drilling wells to provide water to developing countries.


Nov 29: Turkey Trot 5K, 10K, 15K, Half-Marathon | This trot is an ideal option for anyone looking to run the day after thanksgiving.


Nov 30: Orange Coast Musical Arts’ Cornucopia 5K | We love this well-run event due to the fact that the proceeds support home-school musical programs.


Nov 28: O.C. Turkey Trot 5K | The O.C. Turkey Trot includes a children’s Gobble Wobble as well as free pumpkin pie for all finishers.


Nov 28: TVT Cares Turkey Trot 5K &1K Fun Run | The TVT Cares Turkey Trot is put on by the Tarbut V’ Torah Community Day School and the proceeds go toward feeding the homeless.


Nov 9: Turkey’s on Trails: Irvine Regional Park | This run is the perfect option for nature lovers in O.C. You can choose from a beginner-friendly 5k & a more challenging 10k that runs through Santiago Oaks. 

Rancho Mission Viejo 

Nov 28: Turkey Trot on the Ranch | The Turkey Trot on the Ranch is another great option for nature lovers. Even better, all proceeds go toward the Reserve at Mission Viejo.


Nov 28: OC Rescue Mission’s Turkey Trot | This one of a kind race’ brings you along the Peace Officers Memorial and along the Tustin Marine Base.
