What is the Bren Event Center?
The Donald Bren Events Center, more commonly known as the Bren Events Center or The Bren is located on the UC Irvine campus and is their flagship indoor arena.
It opened in January of 1987 and has been a campus and community staple for live sporting events and other amazing shows.
Fun Fact: The first game that was ever played at The Bren was UCI Men’s Basketball vs Utah. State, on January 8, 1987.
The University of California, Irvine renamed the center in honor of a $1.5 million donation from the owner of the Irvine Company, Donald Bren. It provides an exciting and prestigious location in Orange County for a full array of sporting, musical performances, exhibitions, and other public events.
The Bren Center is home to UC Irvine’s basketball and volleyball programs, and also provides top-quality, dynamic entertainment to thousands of fans, annually.
How many people can the Bren Events Center at UCI hold?
The Bren Events Center seating has a capacity of 6,000 people and is built on two levels. It features a state-of-the-art design in lighting, sound system, and acoustic engineering.
The center can be easily converted to stage a variety of events including concerts, lectures, performing arts, and sporting events.
Some of the past performances that have been hosted here include artists such as Common, Christina Milian, The Killers, The Used, John Legend, and Ashley McBryde.
The newest addition to the Bren Event Center is a four-sided LED scoreboard comprised of four 10mm video walls capable of displaying 4.4 trillion colors.
Amenities include nearby convenient parking facilities for guests, a full-service ticket office, an ATM, and two full-service concession stands located on the concourse level.
Supporters of UC Irvine Athletics who contribute at a certain giving level can also enjoy pre-game hospitality in the Koll Room, located downstairs for the main entrance.
The Bren Center This indoor arena also provides a special entrance for the ‘Antourage’, a UCI student spirit organization that is notorious for its game-day support. Another entrance on the arena level can be reserved for security or controlled access needs.
The UCI campus is close to local restaurants and cinemas and offers convenient parking onsite.
