What is Corgi Beach Day?
So Cal Corgi Beach Day is exactly what it sounds like. A beach filled with waddling Corgis! A group called So Cal Corgi Nation hosts this full-fledged festival at Huntington Dog Beach a couple of times each year. What started in 2012 as a small meetup with 5 dogs, is now a must-see event drawing national media coverage each year.
According to Corgi Nation, Corgi Beach Day is a “group of Corgi enthusiasts and their low riding canine friends led by Mr. Pickles the Corgi.” Best of all you don’t even need to own a Corgi to attend!

Corgi Beach Day Frequently Asked Questions
Do I Need to Pay to Attend?
The event is 100% free to attend, but there will be opportunities to purchase food and souvenirs from vendors.
Can I Bring My Dog If It’s Not a Corgi?
Of course! While the event is centered around corgi’s, all canines are welcome to attend.
Don’t miss out on the corgi merch, just because it’ll be virtual this time around. Support the group and show off your corgi pride by shopping on the So Cal Corgi Nation online store!
Is the Event Connected to a Charity?
Corgi Beach Day partners with local corgi and corgi-mix rescue organization, Queen’s Best Stumpy Dog Rescue, which specializes in special needs corgis from Southern California’s high kill shelters.
Where Do I Park?
We suggest ridesharing to the beach as parking fills fast. For those that drive-in, there are two separate paid parking lots between Seapoint and Goldenwest with additional metered spots closer to the beach.
Does My Dog Need to Be Leashed?
All dogs must stay leashed upon entering and exiting the beach. Corgi Nation also advises against bringing puppies under four months old.
